Castaway Firecrest Part 5

by Timothy Nonis on Monday, 28 February 2011 at 00:20
The man started pulling silver chains from the ground and began tossing it around the Golem who was squeaking again."What's so funny?" asked the man. The Golem laughed even louder for a while before he finally answered, " I was thinking how funny it is that stories from the past are proven true everyday. Take for example, David and Goliath. We are the proof that it could have happened."

"That isn't funny. But it is deep for a lump of mud to say to a fellow lump of mud." replied the man as he took out another round of chains out from his pocket. "It is funny because the meat bags will be arguing with each other over it for the rest of time. They shan't be told of this nor shall they attempt to know of this. They prefer to be ignorant meat bags instead of wise lumps of mud." said the Golem in its high pitched Indian accent.

The man then tugged the Golem along like a dog. Thing was if it was a dog it would be a lot less scarier even if that dog was a Doberman. The man had the presence of a demon. Yet the instant he turned around to walk towards Damon, that aura seemed to reduce in power drastically. The man now felt like an ant to Damon.

The shield around Damon went down. The man now stood in front of him.Up close the man looked younger. From far he looked like a thirty year old soldier. Now he looked like he was in his twenties. The man's eyes glowed red as he walked closer. Damon felt the air turn hot and thick. He started shaking in fear but the man just stood in front of him expressionless.

He lifted his hand and the rock that pinned baldy down was thrown far away. He then walked over to baldy. He crouched over him. A cup was drawn from his pocket. He started collecting the blood. Blue light started appearing around his left hand which he used to touch baldy's hand. He shook his head as he helped baldy to his feet.

"Who are you? Why do you have the form of  a human but the strength of a second grade demon even bordering on the first grade." Damon interrogated while finally standing up.He stood at the same height as the man who had a twitch of annoyance when he stepped close enough. He even straightened his back trying to look taller than Damon.

Damon just growled at him in response.Secretly Damon wanted to laugh but this man was an enigma to him. "I am one of those chosen as a tuteur for your family.Or that is my role for now. What it shall be in the end, I do not know.If you need a name for me, I can be called Tage Doitean." answered Tage in a solemn voice.

Damon gasped as he heard that. Tuteur was a guardian attached to the wizarding  family by a Lord. He would be in trouble for treating a tuteur like how he did. He could imagine one of the veterans screaming at him about manners and how important tuteurs are for the family for a few hours.

"Fear not. But I have to go and clean up your mess so go home with baldy here. The other two will be waiting for you outside." Tage stated. Damon complied by bringing baldy out with him.The air was cool as he walked through the tunnel out. It was becoming thinner too.

"That strange man should be considered a threat. He told me who he was but I don't trust him.He smells like he has avoided having a bath for months. He must be a demon not a human." Dandy John said. The rest of the group nodded in agreement. Damon just kept his face straight even though he felt like agreeing really loudly. He was worried if Tage could hear him from far.

Castaway Firecrest Part 4

by Timothy Nonis on Sunday, 27 February 2011 at 21:16
The Golem seemed to have an odd look. It started making a strange squeaking noise like a rat. It kept on repeating at intervals with its body bouncing up and down. Damon then realized it was laughing. The air was becoming hotter and thicker. It was using more of its power.

Damon was left with this thought, How powerful can this golem get? It has already bested me at half power after beating average wizards. This just isn't right. Which wizard would create something with this much power. But this man before me seems to be radiating power that shouldn't be part of him. Could he be something else?

The Golem charged straight at the man who slid to the side. It began its strange squeak again. Much faster and higher though it was.It charged with the stunning speed that left it a blur. The man just flipped over it. The Golem swung its arm round towards his legs. The man just spun to the opposite side.

The Golem began to growl in anger. It was so loud that Damon had to block his ears with spells. But the man seemed to be grinning at that. The Golem then did something totally unexpected. It pulled itself to its full height and stood straight. It then yanked off a part of its mouth or was it a piece of armor.

"So you are a smart man. Reinforcing your limbs to beat my speed. It a delightful challenge but now I must pulverize you with magic." voiced out the Golem in an Indian accent. Damon and baldy both were trying their best to contain their laughs because the Golem's voice was high pitched.

It began blasting out green balls of energy in a zig zag pattern from both hands. The man ran along the wall until he was literally running on the walls. He then stopped at a tile coloured silver. On it an image of two birds began to appear.A small one flying on top a big one. The blasts of energy collided on him.

Smoke formed in a circle that started forming a hurricane. It then dissipated in a second. The man was standing there at ease. The Golem brought its hands together then it slammed it straight to the ground. The wall seemed to release rhinos which charged at the man from several sides. He leaped upwards then kicked the wall. The rhinos crashed into each other and were destroyed by a punch from him.

The Golem had strange runes appearing all over him. Each rune was lit up with grey. The air became as hot as a furnace. Steam started rising from the ground. The Golem was speaking rapidly in two languages. The air around it seemed to become alive. It clapped its hands together.

A wave of green energy went coursing through the whole dome. It pressed the earth and rock forming craters and cracks on the walls. Damon and the bald man both started perspiring from the intensity of the heat of the wave but the shield held. The tiles were now fine dust.

The man had leaped over the Golem. The ground formed chains around the Golem. It roared. The chains turned to dust but the man didn't. " You have a trick. I saw only two magic systems in you but I was wrong. I now see the third in your left arm. The nameless yet name filled above must have pitied your kind, the wrong path. You have been using just your left hand to form a barrier of wind around yourself while every other spell drained the other systems. "the Golem stated.

" I have the strength of twenty wizards, far more than yours of two since the two main systems have not joined. If it did, you would be a third of my strength. Yet if your left joined both, I would have a hard time to even raise my arm against you." said the Golem.

The man now looked bored and waved his left hand. Silver lines caught hold of the Golem. It stood still with the lights from the runes fading. "My master wants you intact. So I have to cut your glorious death to a mere imprisonment for now.Dare attack my master when I leave you with him and you will regret even being created." warned the man.

Castaway Firecrest Part 3

by Timothy Nonis on Sunday, 27 February 2011 at 00:54
Damon rolled to the right as the Golem threw a boulder that was the size of a TV. He heard a sickening crunch. He turned to see the bald man with his right arm crushed by the boulder. "Get a shield up right now." ordered Damon while running to the behind the Golem.

The Golem was a good 3 meters tall with more than enough size to pulverise Damon to bits. Damon started trying to remember what he knew of golems. Golems were creatures created by wizards. Usually it was made out of mud, precious jewels and a living being, a cat, potato or even humans. They were slow and dumb.

So the Golem jumping in front of him was a major jaw dropper. It punched him till he was flying towards the opposite wall. He spun himself while feeling the slippery grains of magic in his mind. He then tapped it to avoid the wall. He could see cracks in the wall from his sudden stop.

But the Golem wasn't done with him. It had another trick, it's eyes were glowing dark bloody red. It propelled a blast of fire towards Damon. Damon brought a shield up to stop it. The flame managed to break through forcing him to sidestep it. The heat was intense.

Damon raised his hand. At that moment, the ground caught hold of the Golem with dog like projections. He smiled as he saw the Golem bound to the spot. It growled out leaving him shaken as it broke free. The earth now came spinning towards Damon in the shape of sharp pointy things that he just couldn't remember the name.

He slammed the sharp pointy earth to the earth using wind. Fire came rushing from the Golem towards baldy  in a spiral form that left him with no where to hide. Damon could only reinforce the shield around baldy at this distance but he couldn't since the Golem threw rocks towards him again.

Amazingly, baldy managed to hold the fire off with his shield. Damon made a wall to block the rocks. But it broke from a giant muddy fist punching it.It gripped him as another wave of fire headed to baldy.

He felt the room become hotter. The air was as dense as water. Even worse was fear  tingling throughout his body. These were signals of something powerful from the dark approaching. A blue shield came up around baldy.Baldy was perspiring from the heat of the flames that nearly reached him.

A snap sounded  and the muddy hand turned to mud and dropped Damon.A man or it seemed stood in front of the Golem in casual clothes.

Castaway Firecrest Part 2

by Timothy Nonis on Wednesday, 23 February 2011 at 00:51
Twelve years later, Damon walked over to the lamplight. A second later, three men in coats walked up to him.One of them signaled to him. One of the men opened a door. The door itself was strange with its red fish handles.A blast of wind hit them as they stepped in.

Damon pointed straight ahead with two fingers. He angled his head to the left corridor. He then walked along the corridor. The man following him was in a blue coat with a fedora on his bald head. The sound of  glass breaking broke the silence. The man looked up and then down. The sound seemed to come from everywhere.

Damon crouched to the ground and tapped it. A hollow sound came out from the ground. Damon then moved a step back as the man lifted his right hand in a clockwise manner followed by a downwards motion.Green rays of light came out from his hand like a snake striking its prey.

The ground shook as it ripped open to reveal a dark tunnel. Damon jumped in without a moments hesitation. The bald man stood still for a moment but a single glance from Damon's green eyes made him jump down. They then walked along the tunnel until it became black like charcoal. Damon lit up  a lantern that seemed to appear in his hands from nowhere.

Damon wrinkled his nose as the air became thick and hot. To a man of his training, these were the signs of danger. He took each step with deliberate precision. But much to his annoyance, the noise that would accompany a heard of stampeding animals resonated throughout the tunnel. It left him on the ground covering his ears in pain.It went on for a long time that left them at the mercy of anything or anyone.

Damon's lips moved for a few minutes at the same speed as a good rapper. He slowly got up and let go of his ears. The sound was muffled to him now but it was still terrible. It told him of how much danger was ahead especially with the air becoming hotter and worse, thicker.

Light began to flood the tunnel in front of him.He ran to the light.A brown thing jumped out from the side of the tunnel ahead into the light. He heard cries from the other two men. That brown thing somehow managed to scare two capable members. Damon's felt his heart beat faster as he reached the end of the tunnel.

It was a cavern with a walls covered in tiles of brown and maroon circles in the middle. The brown thing was a golem.Damon could see that clearly now but it left him with his eyes opened and his mouth more so.
